Description

Campbell County is currently seeking a full-time Custodian I to join our team. The shift is Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm. This position offers full benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability and Life Insurance along with Virginia State's Retirement Plan (VRS). Custodian I Salary Band 1 FLSA: Non-Exempt Reports to: Staff as assigned Staff Supervisory Responsibility: No General Service Areas/Conditions: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors where uncomfortable conditions exist. Work involves minimal physical strain. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Makes a daily difference in the Campbell County organization and locality through: hard work, open and honest communication, ongoing improvement and accountability. Performs with excellence, the following tasks, including but not limited to: * Sweeps, mops floor; * Vacuums carpet; * Cleans bathrooms and cares for toiletries; * Cleans windows inside and outside; * Dusts; * Strips and waxes floors; * And other cleaning tasks as assigned. Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED equivalent * Two years of related experience * Valid Virginia Driver’s License and insurable under County’s Policy. * Requires completion of National Incident Management System IS-700 and IS-100 within 90 days of employment. Core Skill Sets: * Knowledge of general commercial cleaning methods. Good interpersonal skills for interaction with building occupants; * Participation in in-house training programs; * Participation in other outside training as available; * Basic understanding and ability to utilize the county’s adopted software platform. Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm

Responsibilities

The Custodian I is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of indoor and outdoor areas through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and floor waxing. They also manage bathroom toiletries and ensure windows and surfaces are dusted and cleaned.
