REQUIREMENTS:

  • Highschool, GED or equivalent preferred
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work well alone, as well as communicate with various teams and people across both sites
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial site
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts
  • Must be able to be on feet and moving for an 8-hour shift, 40 hours per week
  • Clear Criminal Record check – as access to multiple offices, and codes to buildings is expected.
  • Driver’s License, with a clean driving abstract (driving to and from each site is a part of the role)
  • Ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools, including, but not limited to brooms, mops, floor scrubbers, weed whackers, pressure washers, etc.
Responsibilities

ROLE AND OBJECTIVES:

The Custodian, under the direction of the KLC Resource Supervisor, is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the common areas. The areas of responsibility would include, but are not limited to, bathrooms, lunchrooms, offices, and boardrooms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Working safely in industrial sites
  • Driving safely to each working facility (and around the sites themselves)
  • Cleaning breakrooms, bathrooms, and offices
  • Cleaning touchpoints, like doorknobs, light switches, common handles/switches on equipment
  • Emptying recycling and garbage bins
  • Restocking items such as soap, tissue, toilet paper, paper towels in bathrooms, lunchrooms, etc.
  • Restocking Janitorial Supplies and noting inventory/re-order needs.
  • Cleaning windows, sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors
  • Dusting fixtures, shelves, and other areas
  • Wiping/detailing couches in “Welcome Centre(s)”
  • Completing cleaning/custodial logs as needed
  • Other duties as requested or required (painting, weed whacking, etc.)
