ABOUT CENTENNIAL LIBRARY (CL) Centennial Library, formerly known as Connection Corner, is MPL's technology branch located on the east side of Muncie in the Whitely neighborhood. CL is not a full circulating library, but it's resources include gaming with the latest video games as well as retro games, technology and creativity using the green screen and studio, VHS, cassette tape, and vinyl transfers to flash drives or DVDs, 3D printing, and a sublimation printer and heat press. CLICK HERE to learn more about CL! POSITION PURPOSE To provide general cleaning and maintenance assistance and perform projects as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform these functions satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations. Clean interior of Library properties (vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, sanitize, etc.) Assist with maintenance of system (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) Assist with mowing, shoveling snow, mulching, and landscaping Make minor repairs as needed Drive Library vehicles for pick-ups and deliveries This job description contains information necessary to evaluate and distinguish it adequately from other jobs. Requirements EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Required: High school diploma or equivalent Maintain a valid Indiana Driver’s License Preferred: Experience in cleaning and/or maintenance work Basic electrical, plumbing, painting, and/or mechanical knowledge PHYSICAL DEMANDS The demands below may be required to perform essential tasks satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations. Responsibilities
The custodian is responsible for performing general cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance tasks throughout the library facility. They will also assist with landscaping, minor repairs, and operating library vehicles for deliveries.
