Description St. James Catholic Church in St. Joseph, Missouri is seeking a part time Custodian who will be responsible for the effective, efficient and safe custodial practices throughout the school and parish buildings and grounds. The Custodian will provide routine cleaning for the parish and school buildings. This position is part time averaging 15 hours per week. Essential Duties: Perform routine cleaning for the school and parish buildings including but not limited to dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, window cleaning, cleaning of toilets and sinks. Assist maintenance technician with buffing and waxing floors and other miscellaneous tasks. Assist with setup and takedown of school and parish meeting rooms and spaces. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Problem-solve and develop solutions. Build collaborative relationships with employees and outside contractors. Demonstrate efficient and effective organizational skills. Work independently with confidence and minimal managerial oversight. Basic qualifications: High School diploma. Basic understanding of general custodial practices. Able to walk/stand through the day and lift over 50 pounds. Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset.
