POSITION SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for interpreting architectural drawings to produce CNC Code and documentation required for production and install. This role may include creating detailed shop drawings for submittal.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Education or experience in AutoCad and/or Microvellum.
  • Millwork, woodworking shop/install experience is desired.
  • CNC programming experience is a plus.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Understanding of basic machine operations and distinguishing proper tooling to assign for each machining action.
  • Professional communication and demeanor at all times. Must be able to communicate to both management and staff clearly.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Honesty and integrity, ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • A sense of urgency and a passion for customer and company satisfaction
  • Regular attendance.
  • Ability to understand read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Awareness about safety issues and alertness to avoid any mishap.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess drawings to determine the proper starting product to be modified to create new custom products; ability to create custom products in Microvellum.
  • Assign proper materials to products with attention to thickness, board sizes and grain/pattern directions.
  • Include and assign machining to parts for all applicable hardware including hinges, pulls, drawer slides, grommets, access panels, row holes, etc.
  • Create organized nest drawings to be used by the machine operator.
  • Troubleshoot G-code and machine error codes as they relate to the CNC program.
  • Work with shop floor personnel on issues and manufacturing concerns, ensuring continuous product and process improvements.
  • Interpret architectural and interior design drawings to create 2D construction drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Provide complete, detailed, and accurate drawings to manufacture operations adhering to customers’ needs and any applicable codes and regulations.
  • Prepare construction information (i.e., drawings, cut lists, Bill of Material (BOM) giving the necessary information for programming, machining, and assembly operations.
  • Develop and modify existing products from established standard specifications.
  • Prepare approval drawings that ensure all the essential product information is signed off by the customer.
  • Daily report by end of business day sent via email to direct Supervisor to include hours worked, updates regarding projects completed/outstanding, etc.
  • Set schedule for assignment completion with supervisor and work to keep schedule.
