Description Job Description Summary Marsh Furniture Company is seeking an experienced CAD engineer as part of a small group of engineers to support specification and production of custom wood cabinetry. Core responsibilities in this role involve evaluation of unique customer specifications, conceptualizing the request and building detailed CAD models to be used by a series of key stakeholders. This is a fast-paced environment where effective communication is a necessity. Qualities and Skill Sets Essential Duties & Responsibilities · Interface between external Designer and Production departments with effective communication between the customer and product builders – customer-oriented approach to communication efforts · Works with engineering team in translating and consulting on custom product requests · Create detailed drawings for customer approval · Create parts list for production · Works with production teams on integrating components from CAD models into machining software for nesting and production of parts · Lead communication in purchasing requirements (hardware, finishing materials, decorative accessories, etc...) · Document jobs as well as requests for future reference Requirements To Ensure Success as a Custom Shop Engineering Assistant, you should have: · “Can do” attitude with willingness to support when necessary · Familiarity with the manufacturing environment · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills · Developed verbal and written communication skills to include telephone · Works well within a team environment · Able to learn in a fast-paced environment · Self-starter with the aptitude and willingness for continuous improvement · Willing to stay current and adapt to changes in technology · Accepts and responds well to constructive criticism Beneficial Skill Sets · Microsoft Office Suite o Excel o Word o Outlook · AutoCAD or equivalent CAD program o Fusion 360 preferred · Knowledge of wood and woodworking techniques · Understanding of structural design and stability · Familiarity with planning and production systems About Marsh Furniture Company: Marsh is a family-owned cabinetry manufacturer with a 120-year legacy of innovation, reliability, and service.
