VMAC is seeking a Machinist to join its Custom Shop. Under supervision of Custom Shop Supervisor, this position will be responsible for assisting with new product development, manufacturing tooling creation, and production machine shop support. The successful candidate will need to use good judgment and a wide variety of metalworking skills to develop efficient manufacturing methods, produce good quality prototypes, and small volume components for testing and pilot production runs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of secondary school or GED Diploma, or an associate degree in a technical field or trade school.
- Machinist Red Seal or other qualification deemed appropriate by VMAC.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- 3 years of experience in a fast-paced machining environment.
- 2+ years of experience working on CNC Milling Centers and Turning Centers.
- Working knowledge of CNC programming with Fanuc, Heidenhain or similar controls.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office software Word, Excel and Outlook.
- MasterCAM or other relevant CAM software experience
- Solidworks or other relevant CAD software experience.
