Description The Customer Business Development Director- Japan will grow and maximize the licensed manufacturing and MRO business through direct customer and partner engagement to increase license utilization. expand license parts and OEM client reach to support the Japanese market. This role focuses on identifying opportunities, facilitating license contract additions and capturing the addressable market on Honeywell parts via various trading partners. The BD Director reports directly to the AMS Chief Revenue Officer. This position is based in Torrance, CA and requires up to 50% travel. Job Description / Duties and Responsibilities New Business Leadership Develop and execute a robust business development plan to include market sizing, right to win, channel/trading partners, customer engagement and capture strategies Drive new business opportunities through expanded awareness and engagement within Honeywell sites and departments in support of growth plan Identify and cultivate new partnership opportunities with both JTCs and Heavy Industry partners in support of growth plan Collaborate with other BD and Account Management resources to facilitate proposal development and contract negotiation Identify & support Japanese market opportunities for other AMS lines of business to include exclusive OEM clients Customer Relationship Management · Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with key customers and stakeholders; supporting day-to-day business needs to ensure successful outcomes on in-flight projects · Participate in relevant industry and customer advocacy events to increase visibility and AMS · Represent the voice of our clients/customers in all internal meetings and communications. · Maintain and update a robust sales pipeline utilizing Business Central and/or CRM tools · Collaborate with AMS Government Relations on customer engagement strategies and execution Requirements Minimum Job Requirements · Possess a "hunter" mindset – be hands-on with a tenacious focus on identifying, cultivating and closing new business opportunities · Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively, with strong organizational and time-management skills utilizing a CRM · Self-motivated and results-driven, with excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders · Ability to balance curiosity, strategic thinking and creativity, and to leverage these strengths to comprehend our business and market & competencies, understand our customers' requirements, and deliver viable growth opportunities · Experience operating within an integrated sales team in a complex trading environment · Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools · Able to regularly visit key divisions customers · Willing and able to work extended hours when necessary · Experience operating with large OEM prime contractors, specifically Honeywell · Extensive experience working with Japanese military requirements, acquisition, and operational agencies Education and Experience Requirements · Extensive knowledge of Japanese defense trading environment · Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university · 10+ years of relevant defense business development or procurement experience · Possess an intimate understanding of Honeywell Preferred: · Fluent in Japanese · Technical sales/business development · Background/experience with Honeywell and related platforms
