HE KŌRERO MŌ MĀTOU | ABOUT US

At KiwiRail, we’re proud to keep New Zealand connected—delivering freight, passengers, and purpose across Aotearoa. Our vision, Hononga Whaikaha, Oranga mo Aotearoa – Stronger Connections, Better New Zealand, shapes everything we do.
With over 150 years of history and a 4,500-strong team, we’re moving boldly into the future. Whether it’s rail, ferry, or freight, our people work together to make transport safer, greener, and more reliable for all New Zealanders.

NGĀ PUKENGA E RAPU NEI MĀTOU | WHAT YOU WILL BRING

We’re looking for someone who brings leadership, clarity, and a customer-first mindset to complex logistics. You will have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in logistics, rail freight, or a contact centre environment
  • Proven ability to lead and coach high-performing service delivery teams
  • Strong communication and analytical skills—especially under pressure
  • Familiarity with using data tools (e.g., Power BI) to drive decision-making
  • Ability to manage change and solve problems in a dynamic, fast-paced setting
  • A relevant degree or equivalent operational experience

You’ll also need:

  • A current and valid NZ driver’s licence
  • Ability to travel nationally and pass all safety/security screenings
Responsibilities

As Customer Delivery Manager, you’ll lead KiwiRail’s 24/7 Customer Contact Centre to deliver reliable and efficient freight services. You’ll oversee daily operations, support a skilled team, and work closely with our customers, as well as our internal logistics, planning and operations team, to ensure services align with our customers’ demand. From managing disruptions to coaching for performance, you’ll be at the centre of our customer delivery success.
You’ll use tools like Power BI and Microsoft 365 to track service performance, drive improvements, and make decisions that keep customers informed and freight moving.
