The purpose of this position is to carry out the maintenance servicing of Vertiv equipment, after hours service work and commissioning as planned and directed by the Service Operations Manager and Thermal Super Key Responsibilities Planning & Reporting: Plan your customer service maintenance visits in a structured and methodical manner. Time Sheets – Digital reporting tool to be used (i.e., accurately record hours worked, and all call out and response times) each day. Field Service Reports - to be completed for every maintenance & service call attended. Operational Delivery: Carry out commissioning, service contract maintenance and after-hours service commitments in a professional, efficient manner. Maintain relationships between the VERTIV and our customers, by having professional interactions with customers & providing customer feedback to the Vertiv Team. Keep up to date with your training requirements across multiple Vertiv technologies. Maintain the supplied company vehicle & personal appearance to the appropriate company standard. Spare Parts. Keep personal onboard spares inventory, record & report inventory use. WHS, Environment & Quality: Comply with all Work, Health & Safety, Environment and Quality obligations. Actively promote safety in the workplace Daily Work Duties and expectations: Drivers Licence is required (may involve visit to remote sites) Overnight or longer trips may be required. Unaccompanied (Lone worker) After-hours work and being on an On-Call Roster is needed. Attending customer Service calls. Use of ladders, Scissor lift and scaffolding. Working in tight and restricted locations. Working on and around Energised Electrical equipment. Working on live refrigerant lines and pressure vessels. Working and Heights (needs Work at Heights Training and refreshed every 5 years) Working on HVAC Mechanical systems that will involve awkward body positions at times. Lifting, carrying, relocating equipment and components (e.g Compressors, Gas Bottles etc) Employees reporting to Incumbent Nil Main contacts within Company Other Customer Engineers – Thermal Service Supervisor –Thermal Service Operations Manager Safety Manager Technical Support Team Sales Team Finance Main contacts outside the Company Customers Product Suppliers Contractors Vertiv Partners Education/Qualification: Mechanical Trade Certificate (state dependant) Restricted Electrical Licence Refrigerant Handling Licence Specialist Knowledge: Technical knowledge - data centres, telecom, commercial & industrial or similar industries (highly regarded) Practical Experience: Proven track record within the Air – Conditioning or other precision cooling industry as a service technician Thermal controls & Networking knowledge Proficiency in Microsoft Office Personal Characteristics: Excellent communication, inter-personal and problem-solving skills. Learning agility Interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to multitask and priorities workloads. Negotiation & influencing skills. Computer literacy at an intermediate level
