Hours: 1 day per week (weekdays) initially, with potential to increase after probation and training

Ant Antics Ltd is the UK’s first and only bricks-and-mortar pet ant shop. We’re an award-winning company shaping a niche industry, combining retail, conservation, and education. Our community is at the heart of everything we do - from pioneering events like ANTCON and Homecoming, to our not-for-profit work supplying free colonies to schools and driving conservation projects through the Ant Antics Foundation.

We’re looking for a Customer Experience Assistant to join our small, dedicated team. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll be helping to prepare and pack customer orders, care for live ants, support product preparation, and deliver excellent service to our community of ant-keepers.

Key Responsibilities

• Pack customer orders swiftly and accurately, including live ant colonies and accessories
• Prepare products for sale, including threading, bagging, and quality checking
• Handle and prepare live ants for dispatch safely and carefully
• Respond to customer emails and phone calls with professionalism and warmth
• Occasionally give building tours and host “browse and buy” appointments with customers
• Represent Ant Antics at events and support our community-driven initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• No prior experience with ants is required - but you must be eager to learn, including studying species names in your own time. It helps if you are the kind of person who does not jump out of your skin if a bug lands on you too.
• An interest or experience in invertebrates is beneficial.
• Computer literate and confident using email and basic software
• Reliable, dependable, and socially outgoing, comfortable engaging with our close-knit community
• Social media savvy. We post alot on our channels and communicate with our customers directly in discord
• Willingness to contribute to our not-for-profit conservation and education work - while not mandatory, those who show passion and volunteer with our foundation will stand out strongly in the hiring process

Hours & Progression

• Starting with 1 day per week (weekday, negotiable)
• Hours can possibly increase to 2+ days per week and beyond after probation and once training standards are met
• Opportunities to grow with the company as we expand our community and conservation work
