Customer Implementation Specialist Customer Implementation Team | Trade Shield Johannesburg, South Africa | Full-Time About the Role As a Customer Implementation Specialist at Trade Shield, you will be the primary point of contact guiding new clients from contract signature through to confident adoption of the Trade Shield platform. You will own the end-to-end implementation journey, coordinating configuration, managing timelines, collaborating with multiple internal teams to ensure clients are set up for success, and supporting clients through their early adoption period until they are fully operational. This is a project management-driven role that sits at the heart of our client experience. You will work closely with Sales, Product, Support, Account Management and Training to deliver a seamless, high-quality onboarding experience that reflects the Trade Shield standard. Role at a Glance Team: Customer Implementation Reports To: Head of Operations Location: Johannesburg, South Africa Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range: R20,000 – R25,000 per month (CTC) Key Responsibilities Client Onboarding & Implementation (60%) Own the end-to-end implementation process for new clients, ensuring a smooth and structured transition from Sales handover through to go-live. Build and manage project plans for each client implementation, tracking milestones, action items, and deadlines in line with internal SLAs. Lead regular implementation meetings with clients, driving progress, resolving blockers, and keeping all stakeholders aligned. Coordinate client configuration requirements with internal teams, ensuring accurate and timely setup of the Trade Shield platform. Configure client setups according to their specifications while acting as a trusted advisor, guiding them on industry best practices. Serve as the primary point of contact during implementation, building strong working relationships with client project teams. Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Account Management and Support to ensure a seamless client experience throughout implementation. Client Adoption Support (25%) Support clients through the post-go-live adoption period, monitoring usage and proactively addressing any barriers to adoption. Conduct check-in calls and adoption reviews to ensure clients are getting value from the platform and building confidence with the product. Coordinate with the Training team to schedule and support any additional training needs identified during the adoption phase. Document adoption progress and escalate any risks where required. Training Coordination (10%) Collaborate with Trade Shield's Training department to plan and schedule client training sessions as part of the implementation programme. Provide client-specific context to the Training team to help tailor session content to each client's environment and user base. Act as the liaison between the client and the Training team, ensuring training is delivered at the right time in the implementation journey. Gather and relay client feedback on training sessions to the Training team to support continuous improvement. Continuous Improvement (5%) Maintain a thorough understanding of the Trade Shield platform, including new feature releases and how they impact client implementations. Share client insights and recurring implementation challenges with the Product team to inform improvements. Contribute to the ongoing refinement of implementation processes. What We're Looking For Essential A degree or diploma 1–2 years of experience in implementation, onboarding, project coordination, support, account management, or a similar client-facing role, SaaS experience is a strong advantage. Strong project management skills: organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously without dropping the ball. Excellent communication skills, clear, professional, and confident when engaging with clients and internal stakeholders. A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate issues and act before they escalate. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Advantageous Exposure to trade credit, credit management, or financial services. Experience working at or with a credit bureau, credit risk software provider, collections technology company, or similar B2B financial data business. Familiarity with ERP or SaaS platforms from an implementation or support perspective. Practical experience in an onboarding or project coordination role.
