Role Purpose The Customer Marketing Manager creates a competitive advantage for Diageo by collaborating, creating, and communicating the brand's physical availability priorities across on-premises, Non-on-Premise, and off-premise Channels. This role is accountable for maximising value by delivering the triple win (Diageo, customer, consumer) using insights to deliver programs that align to our category, customer and brand goals. This role enables one to win at the moment of choice (in the outlet) by satisfying the shopper’s desires in a category and customer context. Scope: All trade channels, both on and off trade, and in bigger markets, tends to be set up by channel/customer clusters Role Responsibilities Commercial planning and activation Input into the market Business planning process (MBP) by delivering commercially viable plans in line with brand and channel priorities. Develop JUBP in collaboration with relevant commercial teams aimed at tapping into trade opportunities through plans that are grounded in insights. Focuses on creating selling strategies, planning and driving activity execution, as well as measuring the effectiveness, including trade investment efficiency. Ownership of the 12-week planning cycle to ensure timely planning, program development, compliance checks, briefing of sales teams and execution in line with the MBP pillars. Deliver tools that conform to the developed NGM Physical Availability principles, covering the full Path to Purchase, and in accordance with the M&E takeaways. Monitoring and evaluation of commercial programs across brand and channel to ensure efficient resource utilization and delivery of set objectives. Shopper and category marketing Identify shopper and category insights and turn them into shopper propositions Develops the TBA category strategy, category growth platforms and channel strategies Owns the customer marketing budget and plays a key role in Pre and Post M&E of all BTL Activities Category and channel development Leads commercialization/ tailoring of brand & portfolio activities into channel & customer programs that deliver the overall commercial plan aligned to MBPs. Building and implementing big, scalable insight driven programs that can be completed across customers for trade and segments Develops and drives customer specific retail programs / segment programs intended to drive traffic, increase basket, and/or increase conversion Working very closely with our numerous agency resources as well as finance, legal, and our distributor partners Understanding of data and insights and a pre-existing knowledge of trade across on-premises, non-on-Premises, and off-premises Channels customers, shoppers and other key segments Ensure Brilliant Execution of activities. Responsible for the in-store/bar programs from initial brief through to final toolkit development and customer proposition (as well as supporting execution and final M&E) Responsible for ensuring that the programs are commercially viable and drive category growth (and brand growth ahead of the category) Ensure that activities are completed time and in full with all aspects of logistics, supplies, agencies, legal, ready on time ; Foster outstanding collaboration and build relationships both within and outside Diageo and the Partners Compliance and Ethics Ensure that all Compliance and Ethics processes and behaviours are fully met Experience / Skills Required Minimum 3-5 years of experience in sales and /or customer marketing /trade marketing areas with specific experience in distributor-based businesses. A minimum bachelor’s degree is required in business or a related field. Understanding how the total sales organisation operates and how to drive its effectiveness. Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively internally and externally with good influential and negotiation skills. Ability to work around and within a variety of different market conditions and demographic factors. Strong analytical, presentation and project management skills. Proactive, self-motivated, and tenacious with commercial drive and commercial curiosity. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. Resilience and adaptability in a volatile environment. Ability to work with, support and influence virtual teams across multiple locations and Insensitive to multi-cultural issues, Cultural awareness/empathy where appropriate Ability to connect and build positive relationships and influence results through others.
