Description
Description The Customer Order Engineer will play a pivotal role in both pre-sale and post-sale activities, ensuring the technical accuracy and commercial viability of power generation, transmission and distribution equipment projects. This position demands a thorough understanding circuit breaker technology, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion. The Customer Order Engineer will report to senior management and operate at a higher level than the Project Manager, providing technical leadership and strategic direction. Requirements Reviewing RFQs (Requests for Quotes): Analyze and interpret customer requirements, specifications, and technical documents to assess feasibility and align with company capabilities. Detailing Technical Exceptions: Identify and document any deviations or exceptions from standard product offerings or customer specifications. Communicate these effectively to both internal teams and customers when needed. Creating the Final BOM (Bill of Materials): Develop and finalize the BOM to include schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, nameplate and tag drawings while ensuring all components and materials are accurately specified and sourced. Designing and Distributing Submittal Package Drawings: Create comprehensive submittal package drawings, including detailed technical diagrams and specifications. Distribute these to relevant stakeholders, ensuring clarity and compliance with customer requirements. Technical Leadership and Support: Provide high-level technical guidance and support to project managers, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and effectively. Additional Responsibilities: Project Oversight: Oversee the technical aspects of circuit breaker projects, ensuring they meet design specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic plans for product development, process improvements, and market expansion. Customer Interaction: Serve as a technical liaison with PS Sales and customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of project activities, decisions, and technical documentation. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management and other stakeholders as requested. Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs and projects comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies. Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in applications engineering, specifically within the power equipment industry. In-depth knowledge of power equipment design, manufacturing processes, and industry standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
