Description
Support production manufacturing with problem solving, process improvements and resolution to manufacturability issues. Lead cross functional teams in problem solving and issue analysis in an effort to address either Scrap, customer or production related issues. Work in partnership with engineering to support all development projects and milestones related to Quality and improve the overall process. Support ISO 9001 quality system and supports the implementation and management of the site quality system and procedures. Identify gaps at the plant level and execute improvement activities. Execute or facilitate all aspects of APQP and Part Approval, support revisions of process control documents such as pFMEAs, Control Plans, VOPs and other quality tools to ensure compliance. Drive actions with statistical analysis and process capability (Cpk, Ppk) where necessary to improve performance or product quality. Support supplier PPAP submissions including control plans and assists with control plan creation where necessary. Work with Design Engineering, Marketing and Supply Chain to ensure that quality criteria are clearly identified on all newly established parts and communicated to suppliers. Support customer complaints (Internal-External) related to the facility and for tracking, monitoring and initiating Corrective Actions. Lead the plant's zero-defect initiative while driving efforts to improve quality trends and to reduce costs associated with rework, scrap and warranty claims in line with Divisional goals. Maintains assigned Procedures and Systems to ensure continued compliance with the ISO-9001 international quality standard and EQMS. Supports the maintenance and monitoring the plant's quality performance metrics. High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution. Minimum one (1) year work experience in manufacturing environment. Must be proficient in both verbal and written communication skills of English & Spanish No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates living within the 50 mile radius of El Paso TX will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution. At least 6 months of experience working with transformers. The competency knowledge, practice and application of the Product/Process and Quality System standards of the International Certification Bodies, Industry specific Regulatory Authorities and Customers contractually specified Quality Requirements. Inspection & Testing - The ability to use proven tools, techniques, and methodologies to inspect products, measure process performance, perform product verification and validation testing, and provide feedback reporting as required. This competency is utilized within the framework of the measurement, analysis and improvement aspects of the quality management system. Proficiency in computer skills Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project Management). Proven ability to query and manipulate data using MS Excel, MS Access, Minitab, and/or other programs and transform the data into information Proven ability to solve problems utilizing common problem-solving methodologies/tools such as PDCA, DMAIC, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams, is/is not tables, pareto charts, control charts, etc. Training and experience with quality assurance concepts, Error Proofing, Problem Solving, MSA's, Capability. Studies PFMEA's, Control Plans, ISO 9001, dimensional analysis, auditing and Supplier Quality Management. ISO9001 or TS16949 Experience. Understanding of lean concepts, principles & tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, Set-up Reduction, Pull Systems and Standardized Work. Quality Management System and Six Sigma knowledge. Proven ability to write technical documents such as procedures and specifications. Thorough knowledge of gauging and inspection techniques.
