Location: Bishop’s Stortford
Hours: Part-time, 12–24 hours per week (including weekends)

Car Seat Ninja is an independent, family-run business passionate about helping families keep their children safe on the road. As we expand our online presence and build a brand new retail space at our warehouse in Bishop’s Stortford, we’re looking for a friendly and reliable Customer Service Adviser / Retail Assistant to join our growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive, small-business environment, with full training provided in car seat safety and installation.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking someone who is:

  • Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused, with a natural desire to help others
  • Experienced in retail or customer service roles (essential)
  • A confident communicator, able to explain products clearly and listen to customer needs
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
  • Organised, reliable, and proactive — someone who takes pride in doing a job well
  • Flexible with working hours, including availability for weekend shifts
  • Willing and able to learn new skills, especially in car seat safety and installation
  • Calm and patient under pressure — particularly when assisting new parents
  • Enthusiastic about working in a family-run business with a strong community ethos
  • Knowledge of the nursery industry or child car seats is a plus, but not essential — full training will be provided

Responsibilities
  • Welcoming and assisting customers in-store
  • Demonstrating nursery products such as car seats and pushchairs
  • Installing car seats safely and correctly (full training provided)
  • Operating the till and supporting general shop operations
  • Preparing and labelling online orders for collection
  • Receiving, recording, and neatly putting away deliveries
  • Responding to customer emails and enquiries
  • Answering and handling customer phone calls professionally
  • Keeping the shop tidy, including general housekeeping
  • Conducting periodic stock takes and stock organisation
