ABOUT THE ROLE
We have numerous exciting opportunities to join our 130-strong Customer Service team in Bristol (Temple Back) in a Customer Service Advisor Underwriting role.
As part of this fast-paced team, you’ll respond to referrals from our network of NFU Mutual Agents across the UK, who liaise directly with our customers. You’ll be responsible for reviewing and evaluating insurance risk for our personal lines policies, which include motor, home, travel and pet insurance.
Our Agents require an exceptional service when dealing with requests about customer’s policies, which could be anything from renewals and mid-term adjustments to brand-new business, so you need to be ready to respond with accurate information when it’s requested. Most requests come via phone, so although our Agents can interact with you via a live-chat function, a large part of your role will be receiving a high-volume of phone calls.
To help you become the best you can be in this Underwriting role, we provide a 16-week comprehensive training programme that will start on your first day and will include a mixture of classroom and hands-on experience. And when the training is complete, we’ll provide a supportive learning environment so you can confidently start your Underwriting career. Your line manager will also support you to build a personal development plan which, if you choose to, will help you to gain the skills you need to progress in your career at NFU Mutual.
This Underwriting role offers you a 35-hour week, with rotational shift patterns that run from Monday to Friday between 8am - to 6pm and 1 in 4 Saturdays 9am - 12:30pm. We offer a hybrid working model which means that once you have completed the training programme which typically takes 6-9 months, you can work from the comfort of your own home up to 4 days a week.
Please note the start date for the positions we have is Monday 6th January.
You’re a strong team player who always strives to achieve high quality output, even when working under pressure. You have recent customer service experience and are ready for a role with more scope and career progression. Passionate about delivering customer service you bring your own personal style to work and instinctively provide an excellent customer experience. To join our team, you’ll ideally:
- Be customer-focused with a strong attention to detail
- Confidently work in a regulated environment.
- Be able to make rational and logical decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Proactively build and develop strong working relationships.
- Have excellent communication skill
