Description

The Customer Service Assistant in the Central Library Adult Services Department is trained to give customers an excellent experience by providing warm, welcoming and supportive environments with self-directed spaces and point of need service. Located in the heart of downtown Tulsa at Fifth and Denver, Central serves as a beacon for the Tulsa City-County Library system by providing support services for all 25 locations. The ideal candidate is flexible and adaptable, able to shift tasks and locations as needed throughout the day to support exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Provides general information in person and by phone assisting customers in locating and discovering materials, connecting with available library services, or providing information about the library, referring questions to the appropriate resource;
  • Performs shelf-reading, sorts and organizes library materials;
  • May help customers with basic technology and Internet problems;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to learn and demonstrate library’s automated systems and self-service tools;
  • Ability to operate audio-visual equipment, smart phones, mobile devices, computer hardware and software, and quickly learn new databases and consumer devices including (and not limited to) e-readers, tablets and personal computers.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required;
  • No previous experience required;
