Education & Experience * University degree and/or relevant experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, freight forwarding, or related fields.  * Experience in import/export, forwarding, and freight logistics operations.  * Strong understanding of transport documentation, operational procedures, and cost control.  * Experience working with carriers, shipping companies, suppliers, customs, and customers.  * Experience using transport management systems, CRM platforms, and operational IT systems.  Technical Skills * Strong analytical and computer skills.  * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).  * Experience with transport systems is an advantage.  Skills & Competencies * Excellent communication and customer service skills.  * Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.  * Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and emotional intelligence skills.  * Independent, proactive, organized, and solution-driven mindset.  * Strong reporting, follow-up, and coordination abilities.  * Reliable, disciplined, and professional approach to work.  Language Requirements * Excellent written and spoken English required.  * Dutch, French, Danish, or German language skills are beneficial.  Other Requirements * Knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations (IMO/ADR), INCO 2020, and GDP pharmaceutical transport requirements is beneficial.  * Punctual, organized, reliable, and professional work ethic. Operational Management * Ensure all operational and departmental tasks are completed accurately and within deadlines.  * Manage bookings, transport documentation, Bills of Lading (BL), manifests, routing orders, notifications, arrival notices, and invoicing.  * Oversee import, export, forwarding, and domestic/international transport operations.  * Ensure accurate data entry, cost allocation, and revenue control within transport systems (GFS, CRM, and related platforms).  * Monitor supplier invoices, shipping charges, transport costs, and departmental expenses.  * Ensure compliance with company procedures, operational standards, GDP pharmaceutical requirements, Dangerous Goods regulations (IMO/ADR), and INCO 2020.  * Support implementation of workflows, operational procedures, and new IT systems.  Customer Service & Sales Support * Deliver high-quality, personalized customer service and provide accurate  operational information at all times.  * Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, agents, customs authorities, terminals, ports, warehouses, and partner companies.  * Identify business opportunities and forward promising leads to the sales department.  * Support customer contracting, quotations, bidding, and operational decision-making related to customer agreements.  * Promote additional services offered by Jónar Transport and associated group companies.  Communication & Coordination * Maintain professional communication and close coordination with internal departments in Rotterdam and Reykjavík.  * Collaborate with operational and commercial teams to ensure seamless service execution and customer satisfaction.  * Coordinate effectively with customs, ocean and road carriers, shipping lines, terminals, agents, and suppliers.  Team Support & Development * Support departmental coverage during absences and assist with operational tasks when required.  * Contribute to a professional, positive, and organized working environment.  Process Improvement & Reporting * Contribute to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and quality initiatives.  * Identify operational challenges and recommend workflow and service improvements.  * Conduct reporting, follow-up activities, and data analysis to support operational performance.    * Competitive salary based on your experience and qualifications. * 8.33% holiday allowance and an annual 13th month bonus. * 28 vacation days per year to recharge. * A comprehensive pension scheme. * Travel and internet allowances.
