About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Customer Service Engineer to join our team in Sydney.
This is a great opportunity to join a market leader in a key customer-facing role. Our mission is to deliver the best customer experience possible, with a strong focus on quality support that helps our clients achieve their business goals.
You’ll be part of a 17-member engineering team, supporting customers across Australia. Your responsibilities will include installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of advanced scientific and analytical instruments.
This role is ideal for a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic, service-focused environment.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Install and commission complex scientific and analytical instruments, ensuring seamless setup from delivery to customer sign-off.
  • Perform hands-on repairs and routine maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of equipment across a variety of applications.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues both on-site and remotely, using diagnostic tools and expertise to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Provide remote support and guidance to customers, minimizing downtime and maintaining high service standards.
  • Maintain clear, proactive communication with customers, keeping them informed of progress, next steps, and resolution timelines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and escalate issues when needed to ensure swift, high-quality technical support and customer satisfaction.

About you:

  • Relevant qualifications in Electronic or Electrical Engineering (Advanced Diploma or higher), with 2+ years’ experience in technical or customer support.
  • Strong hands-on technical skills, including experience with precision mechanics and the use of diagnostic tools and toolkits.
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills, with a service-driven mindset and ability to engage across all levels.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve, stay composed under pressure, and make sound decisions independently in the field.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the initiative to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel (50–60%) across Australasia; experience with XRF/XRD, other analytical instruments, and a radiation safety license (NSW or other) is a strong advantage.
