Description

We are looking to fill a permanent position of Customer Service / Inside Sales for our Halifax branch, a division of Richelieu Hardware Ltd.
Under the supervision of the General Manager, you will be responsible for order entry of faxed and emailed orders. You will answer calls and emails related to these orders and provide the necessary follow-up.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills (both internally and externally)
  • Ability to prioritize and complete work independently
  • Work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic environment
  • Computer literate. Ability to use Microsoft Office products and general familiarity with ERP software.
  • Able to lift 30 pounds

Responsibilities
  • Receive & enter orders from Customers; co-ordinate based on product availability
  • Verify inventory status, ship/delivery dates, monitor back-ordered products; communicate with Customers and provide updates as needed
  • Confirm ‘ship-to’ site address, extra details regarding transportation, method of delivery, etc.
  • Arrange and take payment from customers
  • Monitor and act on order/delivery issues for resolution or escalate for further action as per company policy
  • Prioritize and co-ordinate shipments to customers, where our truck is involved
  • Assist customers, when needed, when they come to pick-up their order
  • Prepare documentation to complete customer orders
  • As product knowledge develops, communicate with customers via telephone and email to promote the products we offer
  • Prepare and arrange courier/carrier pick-ups, as required
  • Receive products into the ERP system, as required
  • Daily administrative duties including filing and answering the phone, as required
  • Other duties as assigned with escalating product and procedural knowledge, as required
