About the Role

We are looking for an organised, commercially minded and technically capable Estimator & Order Processor to join our growing business, working across two specialist glazing brands: Cotswold Steel Windows and Mado Windows & Doors.

The role will involve taking enquiries from initial quotation through to confirmed order and production, ensuring that projects are accurately priced, technically correct and properly documented before being released to manufacture or our installation teams.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working with construction products, architectural drawings, pricing, customers and production and who is comfortable managing several projects at different stages.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Quotations

  • Prepare accurate quotations for windows, doors and associated products.
  • Estimate projects across both Cotswold Steel Windows and Mado Windows & Doors using various software for different products
  • Interpret architectural drawings, schedules and customer specifications.
  • Obtain and compare supplier pricing where required.
  • Apply correct labour, material, finishing and delivery costs.
  • Ensure appropriate margins are maintained across all quotations.
  • Identify potential technical or commercial issues before quotations are issued.
  • Produce clear, professional quotations for customers.
  • Liaise with customers, architects, builders and contractors to clarify requirements.
  • Follow up quotations where appropriate.
  • Assist with larger or more complex project tenders.
  • Visit customers to secure sales & undertake initial sales visits with prospective customers (use of fleet vehicles for visits off site)

Order Processing

Once an order is received, you will take responsibility for ensuring the project is correctly prepared for production.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Check orders against the original quotation.
  • Confirm dimensions, configurations, quantities and specifications.
  • Check product type and system requirements.
  • Confirm colours, finishes and hardware.
  • Confirm glass specifications and requirements.
  • Check opening directions, handing and other technical details.
  • Enter orders into the company’s order processing systems.
  • Produce manufacturing information and order packs.
  • Liaise with suppliers to place material and component orders.
  • Ensure all required information is available before an order is released to production.
  • Identify discrepancies or missing information and resolve these before manufacture.
  • Communicate changes to the factory, installation teams and customers.
  • Maintain accurate records throughout the order process.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in estimating, order processing, or a related construction/manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability.
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and standard office software.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Clear and professional communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.

Experience in one or more of the following:
