COLD-LINK LOGISTICS HOLLAND CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Cold-Link Logistics Holland is a third-party logistics, brand 223,000 sq ft state-of-the-art facility in Holland, Michigan and we are actively recruiting for experienced Customer Service Representative to support with the Customer Service activities at our new temperature-controlled food grade distribution center.
SUMMARY:
Reporting the Customer Service Manager, the Customer Service Representative initiates, coordinates and monitors logistics service and support activities that promote the highest levels of Customer Service and Continuous Improvement in our Key Performance Areas: Safety, Quality, On-Time Performance, Productivity, Profitability, and Team Development.
Customer Service Representative’s duties include the following: invoicing, product releases, the preparation of bills of lading, handling of standard quotations, inventories, emails, customer relations by phone, emails, and in person, and data entry.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Minimum High School diploma and professional development in customer service and operations support
- 3+ years’ experience in clerical logistics and customer service.
- Proficient in office technical and communications systems, equipment and MS Office applications.
- Warehouse Management Systems experience strongly preferred
- Must be able to read, count accurately, perform basic math calculations and write legibly.
- Ability to follow directions with emphasis on safety is extremely important.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally as required to perform the position’s assigned Duties and Responsibilities, including face-to-face and telephone conversations with customers, team members, carriers, suppliers, and others.
- Ability to effectively utilize email and other digital communication tools to perform the position’s assigned Duties and Responsibilities.
- Ability to read, understand and effectively utilize documentation required to meet Cold-Link Logistics and customer requirements, including customer production schedules, dock appointments, shipping and receiving, safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to keep a professional service-oriented approach in all situations, and to escalate issues as needed to Cold-Link Logistics leadership for additional support.
- Ability to build consensus and foster positive relationships and to communicate across functional lines at all levels.
- Ability to learn and apply Cold-Link Logistics Safety and Quality Standards.
- Ability to deliver results in a challenging fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills required.
- Ability to manage multiple high priority tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to forecast and plan effectively, and to coordinate these activities among multiple departments, customers and vendors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & SCHEDULE:
- Core working hours are Mon-Fri dayshift but in rare emergency situations must be available for team support as needed during evening hours and weekends.
- Prolonged periods sitting and standing.
- Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds, to work on elevated surfaces and work in extreme temperatures and noise levels.
- Must have an acceptable driving record according to Company guidelines.
- Ability to be in a multi-temperature warehouse environment with temperatures ranging from outside ambient to -20 degrees F. Cold-Link provides cold weather gear for staff members.
