JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description Summary
Perform the physical and administrative tasks involved in shipping and receiving. Maintains records of received goods/pieces of mail. Prepares and maintains records of items shipped/mailed. Prepares goods/pieces of mail for final shipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of previous mail room experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral
  • Excellent computer skills, specifically word processing and database entry and knowledge of fax and scanning machines
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to sort the mail in a way to help ease and speed of delivery

Physical Conditions

  • Lift heavy boxes, files or paper when needed
  • Regularly required to travel from floor to floor and may be required to travel outside between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Regularly use hands to operate office machinery
