Zoom Room Ankeny is hiring a part-time Customer Service Rep / Dog Trainer Apprentice for WED EVENINGS (5–8 PM), SATURDAYS (8:30 AM–5:30 PM), and OCCASIONAL SUNDAYS (8:30 AM–5:30 PM).
Must have: 3+ years customer service experience, 2+ years dog handling experience, reliable transportation, and weekend availability.
Pay: $14–$20/hr + trainer & sales bonuses + employee discounts.

Zoom Room Ankeny is a positive reinforcement dog training gym. We don’t just train dogs—we coach the people who love them. From puppy preschool and obedience to agility and enrichment workshops, we help clients build lasting, joyful relationships with their dogs. We also carry a curated selection of training gear and healthy treats, and welcome guests to hang out in our Hound Lounge for coffee and conversation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years customer service experience
  • 2+ years dog handling experience
  • Reliable transportation
  • Available evenings and weekends
  • Comfortable lifting 30+ lbs and standing for long periods
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bonus: public speaking/teaching/coaching experience, prior training experience

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Customer Service Representative / Dog Trainer, you’ll be the welcoming face of Zoom Room. You’ll assist with classes, provide amazing customer service, and start your journey toward becoming a professional dog trainer through our in-house training program.
No prior dog training experience required—just a love of dogs, comfort handling them, and a genuine desire to help people learn.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Assist and co-lead group and private training sessions
  • Provide exceptional service in person, by phone, and email
  • Recommend training programs and retail products
  • Keep the gym clean, welcoming, and well-stocked
  • Help with scheduling, vaccine records, and client questions
  • Occasionally bake and decorate dog donuts (yes, really!)
