  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is often required.
  2. Customer Service Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills to assist customers effectively.
  3. Numerical Proficiency: Strong math skills for handling cash transactions and making change accurately.
  4. Attention to Detail: Precise cash handling, checking prices, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
  5. Cash Register Operation: Familiarity with cash registers, POS systems, and other related equipment.
  6. Time Management: Ability to work efficiently during busy periods and manage long queues.
  7. Integrity: Trustworthiness in handling cash and sensitive financial information.
  8. Basic Computer Skills: Knowledge of basic computer operations for using modern point-of-sale systems.
  9. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift heavy items.
  10. Multitasking: Handle multiple tasks, such as handling transactions, answering customer queries, and maintaining a clean checkout area.
