About you and this role
For our Packaging and Specialty Plastics (P&SP) business located in Terneuzen, The Netherlands, we are currently seeking a Customer Service Specialist, serving key and priority customers.
You are a proactive, solution-oriented, and customer-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. In this role, you act as the interface between customers and Dow’s business value chain partners—including Manufacturing, Marketing & Sales, and Supply Chain - to deliver exceptional service and drive profitability. You provide tailored solutions while managing operational needs and aligning with company objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Order Management: Execute the order entry and fulfillment process for priority and foundational customers, often involving high complexity.
  • Product & Service Expertise: Maintain thorough knowledge of Dow’s products, applications, and service offerings to support customer needs effectively.
  • Customer Intimacy: Build strong relationships, understand customer needs, and gather market intelligence to enhance service delivery.
  • Account Coordination: Manage activities across assigned customer accounts, proactively address issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Service Excellence: Maintain service levels in line with business prioritization and ensure consistent, high-quality support.
  • Solution Orientation: Differentiate between customer requirements and Dow capabilities to identify and deliver cost-effective solutions.
  • Commercial Support: Align with commercial strategies across multiple businesses to support Dow’s growth and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Prior relevant working experience of 3 years in customer service or a related, customer-focused field.
  • Fluency in English is required and preferable fluency in German (verbal and written).
  • Strong understanding of business processes and systems.
