QUALIFICATIONS: This job requires a high school diploma or its equivalent along with 3 years’ experience in an office setting.  Must have excellent and accurate typing skills.  Must have general computer skills, be detail-oriented and able to work effectively with people at all levels. JOB SUMMARY:  Receive and process customer purchase orders, change orders, sample requests, cancellations and other customer service needs.    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Ensure and provide quality customer service to both internal and external customers.  2. Receive customer purchase orders, change orders, sample requests, and cancellations.  Analyze and interpret requirements.  Prioritize and prepare orders for system entry.  Refer other correspondence to the appropriate personnel. 3. Process purchase orders and sample requests into computer giving priority to expedited orders double-checking for errors. 4. Process change orders, additions and cancellations to existing purchase orders. 5. Suggest substitute or alternate products when necessary.   6. Monitor EDI purchase orders pending review and make appropriate changes and corrections as needed.   7. Work with the Special Pricing department for clarification on quote pricing differences on customer purchase orders.   8. Process new item number requests and follow up as needed. 9. Inform customers on price corrections or changes.   10. Respond to inquiries as the situation demands. 11. Perform other duties as assigned.
