The British Council is looking for a Customer Services Advisor to deliver high-quality services to both internal and external customers, ensuring their needs are met while supporting the organisation's objectives. This role is key to creating a professional, welcoming, and efficient experience for everyone who interacts with our Teaching Centre and Exams services. As the first point of contact, you will manage enquiries in person, by phone, and via email, using systems such as the Teaching Centre Management System, online exam registration platforms, and internal databases. You will be expected to provide accurate information about British Council services, identify customer needs, and match them with the most suitable options. Promoting and cross-selling services, handling feedback, and ensuring timely responses are essential parts of the role. You will be responsible for registering customers for English courses and exams, maintaining and updating customer accounts, and ensuring the customer services area is well-organised and stocked with up-to-date materials. You will also assist in organising office events, handle payments, reconcile daily revenue, and ensure the confidentiality and security of all transactions and documents. In addition to customer-facing duties, you will support administrative tasks, contribute to team targets, and ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health and safety policies. You will be expected to complete mandatory training, manage information in line with data protection standards, and actively plan your professional development in agreement with your line manager. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum / Essential English (C1 - Common European Framework) Romanian (C1 - Common European Framework) University Degree in any subject or qualification in a relevant field Desirable Proven experience in customer service Important information: Location: Bucharest, Romania Pay-Grade: 2/J Salary: 3 042 RON net per month + additional benefits Contract: Fixed term - 1 year with possibility of extension Requirement: Candidates must have the pre-existing right to work in Romania.
