Description
Description Customer Support Representatives are responsible for assisting excavators, utility companies, public safety departments, and the general public with underground facilities locate requests. This is accomplished by professionally answering calls, accurately locating the proper place in the County/Place mapping system and entering correct information into the 811 computer system. Customer Support Representatives play a key role in preventing underground utility damage and saving lives. The ability to adapt to change, learn quickly, and work a flexible schedule (including weekends and holidays) is essential for this role. Requirements Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience Ability to type at least 40 words per minute with a high level of accuracy Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing Ability to read and interpret maps and understand geographic directions Ability to accurately enter, review, and update information in computerized systems Ability to navigate multiple software applications simultaneously, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Google platforms Ability to analyze information, apply sound judgment, and retain job-related knowledge Ability to maintain professionalism, composure, and empathy when interacting with callers, including during stressful situations Ability to work independently and meet performance expectations in a remote work environment Preferred Qualifications Experience in a high-volume call center or similar fast-paced customer service environment Familiarity with remote work practices, including time management and virtual collaboration Additional Information This position requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
