Description 100% Remote (Must reside within the State of Indiana) Starting Pay: $18.50/hour + FREE Company-Paid Health Insurance ABOUT INDIANA 811 Indiana 811 is a non-profit (501(c)(6)) organization that serves as the required communication link between member utilities and the excavator before digging begins. Our service is to protect underground utilities, prevent damage, and save lives across the state of Indiana. ABOUT THE ROLE Customer Support Representatives answer inbound calls from excavators, utility companies, and the public. This role requires accurately collecting excavation information, entering data into a web-based ticketing and mapping system, and providing legally required information with professionalism and urgency. WHY WORK AT INDIANA 811 Starting pay: $18.50 per hour FREE health insurance for the employee 401(k) with employer match (5% 1–3 years, 7% 4–6 years, 10% after 7+ years) $60 monthly internet stipend Paid Time Off Family-first, respectful workplace culture Company-provided equipment WORK SCHEDULE Permanent shifts scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time Must attend a two-week, in-person training at our home office in Greenwood, Indiana Schedule may vary based on call volume Overtime may be required Requirements KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Handle a high volume of inbound calls professionally Accurately gather and enter excavation data Communicate required legal and procedural information Draw excavation locations using mapping tools Maintain urgency for emergency and damage tickets Meet performance and quality standards QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience Typing speed of 30–35 words per minute with accuracy Strong communication and data entry skills Ability to work independently in a remote environment PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS Ability to sit or stand for extended periods Ability to work in a confined workspace using a headset Ability to perform repetitive tasks TECHNICAL & ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must reside and work remotely within the State of Indiana Minimum internet speeds of 20 Mbps upload / 100 Mbps download (verification required) Must pass typing and customer service assessments Must pass a background check and drug screen prior to hire LANGUAGE & COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS Must speak, read, and write fluent English Must comply with all applicable state and federal laws EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Indiana 811 is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
