Description

POSITION SUMMARY

API is seeking a Customised Program Manager to join our London-based team and lead the delivery and development of our faculty-led, customised programmes across England. This is a full-time, permanent position with a hybrid working structure. While most workdays will be office-based (Tottenham Court Road), there is flexibility to work remotely by agreement. A key part of the role involves being on the ground, coordinating and leading programmes across various locations.
As Customised Program Manager, you will work closely with academic partners to design, implement, and manage bespoke programmes tailored to the strategic and academic needs of U.S. colleges and universities. You will leverage API’s advanced tools—such as APIConnect, curated housing options, and a wide range of experiential learning content—to deliver impactful, culturally immersive itineraries.
This is a fast-paced, client-focused role requiring strong problem-solving abilities, cultural sensitivity, and a consultative approach to programme development. It also requires the ability to be flexible with your schedule - sometimes working in the evenings and weekends when business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Country Manager, you will:

  • Design, price, plan, and manage customised, faculty-led programmes throughout England and beyond.
  • Lead groups during on-site activities, excursions, and cultural events. Support trip leaders and participants before and during travel.
  • Coordinate all logistical aspects including student accommodation, transportation, meals, and excursions.
  • Deliver and manage on-site student orientations.
  • Source and liaise with guest lecturers, cultural experts, and other third-party providers.
  • Develop detailed itineraries in collaboration with U.S. university partners.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with local host universities and vendors.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with API’s Finance, Product & Programming, and Marketing teams to support programme development and delivery.
  • Assist in the implementation of a new academic management platform.
  • Support the London team on other study abroad programmes as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to post-programme evaluations.
  • Support student wellbeing through pastoral care, including accompanying students to medical appointments and providing general health-related assistance as needed.
  • Participate in a rotating 24-hour emergency support schedule.
