POSITION OVERVIEW:

Direct CHB, Inc. is seeking a detailed-oriented and proactive Customs Brokerage Assistant Manager to join our team to facilitate smooth and efficient customs clearance processes for our clients. The Customs Brokerage Assistant Manager supports the Customs Brokerage Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations to customs clearance and regulatory compliance. This role involves team supervision, client support, and strong technical expertise in classifying goods under the HTS.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in customs brokerage, including hands-on experience with HTS code classification.
  • Strong knowledge of US Customs regulations, import processes, and trade compliance.
  • Experience with international shipping documentation and Incoterms.
  • US Customs Broker License preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

· Supervise and support the daily operations of the customs brokerage team.
· Classify products using the appropriate HTS codes based on product description, materials, and use.
· Monitor changes and updates to HTS codes, trade regulations, and ensure compliance with US Customs regulations and other applicable trade laws (e.g., FDA, USDA, CBP, etc.).
· Assist in training entry writers and team members of HTS classification and entry procedures.
· Review and submit entry documentation to US Customs and other gov’t agencies.
· Support the preparation and filing of necessary documentation including ISF, customs entries, and post-entry amendments.
· Communicate with CBP, freight forwarders, and clients regarding customs issues, discrepancies, and delays.
· Identify process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency in customs clearance procedures.
· Help maintain accurate records in accordance with CBP and company policies.
