Job Title: Customs Clerk (Junior)
Department: Customs
Responsible to: Customs Manager/Depot manager
Schedule: Monday to Friday 15:00-23:30

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years Customs experience is desirable, full training will be given.
  • Previous experience in freight forwarding / transport or similar industry desirable.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is crucial.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills and command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to the highest of standards.
  • Compliance focused approach to tasks.
  • Up to date knowledge Customs knowledge in Ireland.
  • UK & NI Customs knowledge a distinct advantage but not essential.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Able to work on own initiative.
  • Team player.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Experience in MS Office.
  • Experience of TARIC, ROS, AEP, AES, AIS, NCTS, CHIEF would be preferred.
  • Experience of Thyme IT an advantage but not essential.
Responsibilities
  • Run all activities associated with processing customs documentation to include reviewing documentation received for accuracy and completeness.
  • Work closely with colleagues throughout the business and externally to advise and support them in custom related matters.
  • Processing import/export consignments as required.
  • Communicate with both Port & Revenue authorities.
  • Assist with reports and retrieval of information.
  • General administration.
  • Customs tariffs/valuations.
  • Creating and discharging T1 documents.
  • Compliance focused approach to all Regulatory & company procedures.
  • Irish Import and Export customs declarations.
  • Northern Irish declarations using TSS.
  • UK Import & Export declarations.
  • ENS declarations.
  • PBN declarations.
  • TRACES submissions for Imports & Exports.
  • Liaising with relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Liaising with Trader, Freight Forwarders & Distributors for relevant documentation.
