SUMMARY

We’re seeking a seasoned Customs Compliance Manager to lead our Customs Brokerage compliance program. You’ll own the strategy, governance, and day-to-day oversight that keeps our operations compliant, efficient, and customer-centric—while enabling growth and reducing risk.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years in customs brokerage/compliance with national scope; proven team leadership.
  • Licensed Customs Broker (US); equivalent credentials (e.g., CCS) a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, origin rules, PGA requirements, FTAs, and recordkeeping.
  • Experience handling post-entry corrections, audits, penalties, and corrective action plans.
  • Strong communicator and trainer; able to translate complex regs into practical steps for teams and clients.
  • Proficient with ACE/ABI, classification/screening tools, and Excel/BI; process improvement mindset.

    Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and continually improve the company’s customs compliance program (policies, SOPs, internal controls, risk assessments, KPIs).
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and rulings; deliver timely, relevant updates to internal teams and customers.
  • Oversee compliant entry processes end-to-end (ISF, entry filings, Partner Government Agency requirements, post-entry adjustments, protests).
  • Lead team in classification, valuation, and country-of-origin determinations; manage binding rulings and advise on FTA/Preference eligibility.
  • Manage responses to government inquiries (e.g., CF28/CF29), penalties, and audits; drive corrective action and root-cause remediation.
  • Develop and deliver training for employees and customers on customs requirements, internal procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Partner with operations, sales, and account management to provide consultative guidance, customer onboarding support, and QBR content.
  • Oversee broker records and document retention; ensure accurate POAs and power-of-attorney management.
  • Analyze compliance data and trends; leverage systems (e.g., ACE/ABI, screening/classification tools, BI dashboards, AI tools) to improve accuracy and speed.
  • Lead third-party vendor oversight and internal audits; measure and report compliance performance to leadership.
  • Support trade strategy (duty mitigation, ADD/CVD risk, rulings, tariff engineering where appropriate) while safeguarding compliance.
