Job Details General Summary: The Customs Compliance Manager classifies products to ensure the correct duty is assigned for the calculation of landed cost and accurate payment of duties to U.S. Customs. Additionally, the Manager ensures products meet all import requirements set out by partner government agencies (PGAs) such as the Food and Drug Administration, Fish and Wildlife, the United States Department of Agriculture, and others. Duties & Responsibilities: · Customs Classification and Import Quote Sheets processing/approval (60%) · Classify product and approve import quote sheets o Evaluate import quote sheets to determine the classification and duty rate of import items o Maintain parts database for import product o Determine applicability of antidumping and countervailing duties o Evaluate import admissibility and duty implications resulting from Section 301, IEEPA, Section 232, or other Presidential proclamation, etc. o Analyze complex components and manufacturing process scenarios to determine correct Country of Origin of products o Review for applicability of Free Trade Agreements and determine product’s eligibility o Set business rules to ensure compliance with Intellectual Property Law o Collaborate with sourcing office and vendors to obtain product information required for classification and documentation · Manage Core Quote Sheet Review o Mitigate risk by ensuring classification and duty are correct for Core merchandise imported routinely and consistently o Create monthly report for Merchants to request semi-annual updates to quote sheets and monitor progress toward deliverables o Ensure timely review and approval of quote sheets and inactivation of those not reapproved within the required time frame o Review non-core written POs to ensure QS approval
Responsibilities
The Customs Compliance Manager is responsible for classifying products to ensure correct duty payments and ensuring all imports meet Partner Government Agency requirements. They also manage quote sheet reviews, create compliance training, and collaborate with customs brokers and internal stakeholders.
