A leading automotive manufacturer is seeking an experienced Trade Compliance & Customs Manager to play a critical role in ensuring compliant international trade operations while helping shape the future trade compliance framework of a newly evolving business structure.This is a unique opportunity to join a business undergoing a significant transformation where you will not only lead operational trade compliance activities but also help build and implement the long-term strategy for export controls and customs within an exciting carve-out environment.

  • Ensure compliance with EU, German, US and other relevant export control regulations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customs authorities and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee customs processes including classification, origin, valuation and special customs procedures.
  • Support audits, investigations and internal compliance reviews.
  • Develop and enhance trade compliance policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
  • Build and implement trade compliance strategy as part of the company's carve-out and transformation journey.
  • Partner with Logistics, Procurement, Manufacturing, Legal and Commercial teams to ensure compliant business operations.
  • Deliver training and awareness programs across the organization.
  • Support digitalization and process improvement initiatives within customs and trade compliance.


  • Your ProfileSeveral years of experience within Export Controls, Customs or International Trade Compliance.
  • Strong working knowledge of EU and German export control regulations.
  • Experience operating within complex multinational manufacturing environments.
  • Automotive or industrial manufacturing background preferred.
  • Hands-on operational mindset combined with the ability to think strategically.
  • Experience supporting carve-outs, business transformations or organizational change would be highly advantageous.
  • Fluent English required. German skills are highly desirable.
