POSITION GOAL: Customs Coordinator assists the Traffic & Customs department, in support of company objectives, by working with others in the timely compilation of information specifically related to all facets of international cross border customs clearances. Maintain USMCA certificates for all cross border shipments, ensure compliance with US, Canada and International authorities, prepare customs invoices, ensure data within Oracle is updated according to all regulations required for lawful movement of goods to our facilities, our customers and our partners. The job may require special projects and initiatives to be completed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist Suppliers, New Flyer Purchasing and other departmental staff in support of freight movement. Coordinate the movement of goods and customer buses with Suppliers of traffic services in compliance with Customs and Carrier Regulations for the timely delivery of such goods Assure Customs and Shipping documentation is completed correctly and in compliance with Regulations Assure that requests from Governmental agencies are responded to and addressed in a timely manner Support Brokerage service providers with information requests and/or tariff and regulations compliance documentation as well as address issues related to same Update the New Flyer Oracle database with necessary customs information including but not limited to tariff numbers and country of origin certificates Audit, correct and file Customs Entries and Amendments Review brokerage invoices on a timely basis with management University or college graduate with studies relevant to Logistics preferred Completion of CSBC Course or a recognized transportation program considered an asset Minimum 3 years of Traffic and Customs experience in a manufacturing environment Proven ability to multi-task with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, time-sensitive setting Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel Effective problem-solving abilities with strong data manipulation and analysis skills Demonstrates a sense of urgency and a hands-on approach to tasks Travel required on an occasional basis OUR WHY: We exist to move people.
