Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Customs Coordinator will be responsible for managing all service parts and vehicle Inbound receipt discrepancies within our Customs system, Integration Point. This task will ensure Volkswagen Group Canada remains complaint with all duties and taxes paid to Canada Customs. This role will also be responsible to flag and process corrections of any overpayments so refund/credits can be applied to the monthly payment to CBSA.
This is a flex hybrid work structure, where employees can work both remotely and on-site at our St. Thomas location.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Customs and Logistics department to maintain trusted trader relationship with Canada Customs
  • Review, match and close manual Customs entries with their corresponding receipt files to provide critical and current upkeep of company trade data
  • Independently investigate overage receipts and create files to balance misallocated receipt files
  • Review and investigate receipt discrepancies to identify potential shortages, overages or other issues requiring reconciliation to ensure proper and accurate customs accounting.
  • Utilize Excel to format claim and/or correction files for Customs Broker to file adjustments
  • Work collaboratively with the Customs Manager to facilitate various administrative an operational tasks to support the importation of parts and vehicles
  • Support the project team with SIMA and anti-dumping penalty analyzation
  • Support the analyzation of custom duties for project related imports of equipment and construction material
  • Support the contracting of a custom broker company and coordinate the import and export of goods and material with the custom broker
  • Establish procedures and adopt regulation for custom processes.
  • Work closely together with the custom team in PowerCo SE Germany
  • Establish and support the export control management of PowerCo Canada and sanction list screening
