JOB OVERVIEW

Coppersmith Global Logistics is a full-service Customs Broker, International Freight Forwarder and Logistics Specialist of international transportation for over 75 years since 1948!
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Customs Entry Writer / Import Coordinator to join our Houston, TX team. In this position you will be responsible for the documentation and import clearance of hunting shipments, ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction as designated point of contact.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum 3 years Ocean/Air Import customs brokerage & PGA experience and possess the knowledge of operations for air & ocean import customs clearance and domestic / international transportation processes. We encourage those with Fish & Wildlife experience to apply as this position will be assigned to our international sport hunting trophy division.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years U.S. Customs Brokerage experience
  • Knowledge of import regulatory documentation requirements including but not limited to: Arrival Notices, Bills of Lading, Commercial invoices, Harmonized Tariff codes.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of PGA regulations and transportation planning
  • The ability to handle multiple accounts and total maintenance (from A-Z) including Fish & Wildlife shipments
  • Familiarity with FWS, USDA, APHIS regulations related to imports is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Exceptional organizational skills and effective communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented work environment, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to customer service
  • Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills

Responsibilities
  • Process air and ocean import shipments; total account maintenance (from A-Z)
  • Coordinates and processes documentation from overseas agents.
  • Prepares required documentation, classification, and submission to US Customs.
  • Tracks incoming shipments for assigned and/or shared accounts.
  • Monitors hunting trophy shipment ETA’s regarding import cargo movement; arranges for pick-up and transfer of cargo.
  • Updates shipment status and issues arrival notices.
  • Serves as a liaison to the customer regarding all shipment details.
  • Promptly answers all customer inquiries in accordance with the CBP Policy standards.
  • Coordinates the release of goods with carriers, CBP, and other government agencies.
  • Provides accurate rates to clients and proactively increases customer satisfaction through regular contact.
  • Other duties as assigned.
