A Day in the Life: Custom Integrations Engineer I
The Custom Integrations Engineer I position plays an integral role in the execution our technology team’s strategy, working closely with our team to build and enhance integrations that are critical to our operations. As part of the growing integrations team, you will participate in the planning, design, implementation, and support of integration projects. You’ll be responsible for enabling data flow between applications, collaborating across teams, and utilizing low-code/no-code tools to integrate our systems with those of our partners, customers, and carriers.   • Coordinate and develop functionality across multiple applications and subsystems, collaborating on requirements, prototyping, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Trinity’s applications and how they operate within the ecosystem.
  • Provide engineering and design support to technical operations when building, deploying, configuring, and supporting systems.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to define plans for standardizing, scaling, and enhancing systems.

Job Requirements: Is This You?

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience), required.
  • Experience: At least one year of software development experience in a professional team-based environment, required.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript, Node.js, or Go, preferred.
  • API Development & Integration: Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, SOAP, and authentication methods (OAuth, JWT, API keys), preferred.
  • Middleware & Integration Tools: Experience with tools like MuleSoft, Apache Camel, Zapier, Workato, Dell Boomi, or Tibco.
  • Database Management: Knowledge of SQL (MySQL preferred).
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for deploying and managing integrations.
  • Message Queues & Event-Driven Architecture: Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub, or WebSockets.
  • Scripting & Automation: Ability to write automation scripts using Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Monitoring & Debugging: Experience with tools like Splunk, Datadog, or Prometheus for logging and monitoring.
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to define solutions, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Organization & Project Management: Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage and execute multiple projects at once, using Agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaboration: Experience working with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, IT, and customers.
  • Travel: Some travel may be required.
