Job Title: Customs Specialist(USMCA)
Position Overview: As a member of the customs team, you will provide guidance
on US customs processes and facilitate transactional support for both imports
and exports.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with commensurate experience.
  • 2+ years of direct US import and export experience.
  • Hands-on experience reviewing, preparing, and processing import entries and export shipments.
  • In-depth knowledge of US Customs regulations, the US tariff database, General Rules of Interpretation, and customs brokerage practices.
  • Advanced understanding of trade preferences (e.g., USMCA), duty-minimizing programs (e.g., US Goods Returned), and valuation regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, high ethical standards, exceptional attention to detail, and a self-motivated, team-oriented approach.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; PowerPoint is a plus. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Licensed US Customs Broker.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit clearance instructions to customs brokers, ensuring full compliance with US import and internal requirements.
  • Navigate various importing requirements such as FDA, EPA, AD/CVD, Section 201, 301, 232, quotas, and Free Trade Agreements.
  • Monitor US imports to secure timely clearance and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Ensure full compliance for export transactions, including review of export documentation, filing of Electronic Export Information, and record retention.
  • Interface with customs brokers, internal departments, and suppliers to gather necessary information and maintain consistency with defined processes.
