Job Title: Cutting Saw Operator Job Summary The Cutting Saw Operator is responsible for accurately and safely operating cutting saw equipment to cut raw materials to specified dimensions. This role ensures production quality, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Key Responsibilities Operate cutting saws (e.g., band saws) to cut materials according to work orders and specifications Measure and mark materials to ensure precise cuts Read and interpret blueprints, cut lists, and job tickets Set up, adjust, and calibrate saw equipment for different materials and cut requirements Inspect finished pieces for accuracy, quality, and defects Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of saw equipment Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE Maintain a clean and organized work area Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding production needs and issues Material inventory management Forklift and crane operations Requirements Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience operating cutting saws or similar machinery preferred Basic math and measurement skills Ability to read measuring tools Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and move materials (up to 50 lbs with assistance) Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination Work Environment Manufacturing or shop environment Exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery Required use of safety equipment such as gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection The above job description covers the most significant duties performed but does not exclude other occasional work not mentioned.
