Overview Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction SME to support Headquarters United States Air Force (HAF/A10) in providing Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration. This effort delivers technical, analytical, operational, programmatic, and planning subject-matter expertise to HAF/A10 and its component divisions to advance national security strategic plans, policies, concepts, and initiatives. Support areas include international treaties and agreements, the Foreign Clearance Program, Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction, nuclear stockpile and enterprise management, missile defense, nuclear deterrence research and education, strategic policy, ancillary IT support, and program management. This is a full-time position, located on-site at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. ***This position is contingent upon contract award.*** Responsibilities Serve as on-site programmer SME proficient in Python, C++, and Visual Basic for CWMD and nuclear-effects modeling. Develop and implement models of complex systems representing chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear agent effects and attributes. Model environmental and situational variables (e.g., weather, temperature, temporal degradation) and overlay effects on air operations. Integrate scientific data, test results, and operational parameters into modeling code and simulations. Simulate agent behavior over time, including degradation and persistence, to assess effects. Assess impacts on sortie generation, timing, and flow to characterize operational risk and environment. Produce analyses, visualizations, and decision‑support products for operational planning and stakeholders. Qualifications Minimum Experience: Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain TS/SCI level clearance Education: Bachelor's degree Years of Experience: Twenty-five (25) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, including fifteen (15) years of DoD experience Additional Experience: Proficiency in Python, C++, and Visual Basic programming languages Ability to model complex systems with chemical, biological, radiological, and/or nuclear agent effects Ability to incorporate scientific data and testing results into programs Ability to characterize risk and environmental factors Preferred Qualifications:Education: Master's degreeYears of Experience: Twenty (20) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, including twelve (12) years of DoD experience Additional Information:Location: Located at the Pentagon in Arlington, VAOn-site: This is a full-time on-site position ***This position is contingent upon contract award.***
