EDUCATION

  • BS or BA degree (in progress), preferably in technology.
  • Relevant certifications such as Network+, Security+ or CEH are considered a plus.
  • Ideally one year ahead of graduation.
Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Responsible for watching over network security systems for unusual activities or breaches and generating regular reports, which introduces foundational network security operations while assisting current staff.
  • Assisting with Security Assessments and Audits: Helps prepare and conduct security assessments and audits, gathering documentation and learning to identify vulnerabilities, thereby providing hands-on experience and supporting staff compliance efforts.
  • Maintaining Security Tools and Software: Updates and maintains security tools and software to ensure all systems are current, reducing staff workload and gaining practical experience with essential technologies.
  • Participating in Security Training and Awareness Programs: Engages in security training sessions and awareness programs, enhancing personal knowledge and skills while aiding in the organization and execution of these programs.
  • Documenting Security Policies and Procedures: Assists in documenting network security policies, procedures, and protocols, keeping team documentation up to date and gaining insights into regulatory and compliance aspects.
  • Supporting Incident Response: Gets involved in incident response activities under supervision, tracking incidents, documenting actions, and learning mitigation strategies, offering exposure to real-world security challenges.
  • Conducting Research on Current Security Trends: Researches new threats, security trends, and best practices, keeping the team informed of the latest developments and fostering a continuous learning environment.
