Description

Job Title: Cyber Security Analyst | Essential Eight

Support a major Australian Government cyber security uplift program as a Cyber Security Analyst, translating Essential Eight control requirements, assessment findings and cyber risks into structured uplift activities and assurance outcomes.


Location: Canberra, ACT

Contract Duration: 14 Jan 2027 - 1 x 12-month extension

Security Clearance Requirement: NV1

Closing Date: 20/10/2026


Essential Tasks:

  • Analyse Essential Eight control requirements, assessment findings and assurance outcomes.
  • Translate cyber security risks and control gaps into structured uplift activities and priorities.
  • Support uplift backlogs, planning artefacts and assurance evidence for reassessment activities.
  • Develop reports and briefings while engaging technical, risk and delivery stakeholders.

Key Criteria:

  • Experience or qualifications in cyber security, ICT, risk management or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of cyber security controls and assurance concepts.
  • Experience supporting cyber or ICT initiatives through analysis or coordination.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical outcomes.
