- Role type: Temporary 12 month opportunity, with possibility of ongoing
- Salary: DCS Clerk Grade 7/8. Package includes base salary ($116,981 - $129,492) plus superannuation and annual leave leading.
- Location: Bathurst with hybrid working conditions and a 50% office presence required.

About the Role:
Cyber Security NSW is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join the Cyber Technical Centre team who are at the forefront of cyber defence. You will analyse and assess cyber security vulnerabilities and emerging trends, delivering timely and actionable insights. We are looking for a candidate with strong technical skills, and the ability to perform penetration testing will be highly regarded.
Cyber Security NSW supports flexible working arrangements. This position is based in Bathurst however candidates from nearby regional centres are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform scheduled and targeted vulnerability and other technical scans against authorised NSW government infrastructure.
- Perform reconnaissance as a part of penetration testing engagements to confirm viability of targets, ownership of assets amongst other related tasks.
- Analyse and assessing the results of scans to produce timely and actionable reporting for stakeholders.
- Manage systems to track the remediation of discovered vulnerabilities.
- Identify stakeholder requirements, prioritise workload and manage team portfolios to meet agreed outcomes and timeframes.
- Use systems to collect, document and report on identified targets and their architectures.
- Analyse exposed cloud infrastructure, identifying misconfigurations and generating reports for rectification.
- Investigate vulnerabilities and identify exposure, generating timely reports to mitigate risk.
- Perform statistical analysis of vulnerability trends, and generate insights.
- Analyse Cyber Security Vulnerability trends and generate meaningful insights.
- Ensure security of tools and information within team.
- Maintain current knowledge of IT and security vulnerabilities and exploits.

- Have experience providing advice and guidance to stakeholders, particularly in vulnerability and security risk management (desirable).
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of ICT concepts and terminology, network protocols (including IPv4 and IPv6 addressing), and cyber attack techniques, methods and technologies.
- Have experience working with cloud technologies, with a focus on securing cloud-based workloads.
- Possess knowledge of reconnaissance and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) tools and techniques.
- Have experience working with APIs (desirable but not essential).
- Hold experience or certifications in penetration testing (desirable but not essential).
