The Cyber Security team provides a wide range of services including security architecture & design, incident response and cyber assurance for ASIC. ASIC’s Cyber Security team is seeking a talented Cyber Security Architect (SOC) to join their collaborative and high performing team.

  • Salary from $131,752 to $144,386 (depending on experience) + 15.4 % superannuation

THE ROLE

As a Cyber Security Architect (SOC), you will support the design, implementation, integration, and oversight of security solutions across cloud and hybrid environments, with a focus on enabling secure business operations. You will also collaborate with other architecture teams to ensure alignment with enterprise security standards and contribute to broader cybersecurity initiatives.

More specifically, you will:

  • Act as a customer-facing technical specialist, managing security architecture requests and assessments with network, firewall, development, and business teams.
  • Define security controls and operational protocols to protect cloud-hosted environments from misuse or unauthorized changes.
  • Assess the effectiveness of security controls to identify gaps, vulnerabilities, and potential attack vectors.
  • Evaluate hosted environments against ACSC ISM and industry-standard cloud security frameworks.
  • Collaborate with IT operations and application teams to advise on security-related service and change requests.
  • Support senior security architects in enhancing controls across existing platforms and services.
  • Coordinate threat modelling and architecture reviews to validate the completeness of security controls.
  • Contribute to the development of cybersecurity architecture principles, patterns, roadmaps, and frameworks.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of technology services and solutions into secure environments.
  • Create and maintain cybersecurity documentation, including solution designs, assessments, and architectural artifacts.
