JOB SUMMARY

The Cyber Security Email Analyst should possess in-depth knowledge of email systems, DNS, journaling, gateways and protection technologies. Additionally, will provide email threat intelligence to our internal threat intelligence team.
This position requires an analytical mindset and a detailed understanding of enterprise email systems that can be applied to a cyber security focus; will be expected to have a meticulous attention to detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience with a large hybrid enterprise level email system in Microsoft O365 and hybrid Microsoft MS Exchange environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with journaling, messaging gateways, and protocols.
  • Experience in threat detection, incident response and forensics.
  • Awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques via email and phishing companies.
  • Experience with a Security Information and Event Management system (SIEM).
  • Experience with ProofPoint, Abnormal or Microsoft ATP.
  • Work well with team members and other IT organizations.
  • Able to communicate effectively with senior management.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized; superior time management skills.

  • Implements and maintains all email protections and cybersecurity-related systems, including but not limited to vulnerability management, intrusion detection/prevention, exfiltration, data loss prevention and security information and event management.
  • Maintains email security policies and leads engineering collaboration with IT and throughout the organization to asses email security risks, mitigating controls or remediating those risks.
  • Provides Email threat analysis on emerging threats, industry issues, and trends through in-depth threat hunts.
  • Participates in external security assessments, audits, and penetration testing initiatives.
  • Ensures technical solutions adhere to various compliance frameworks such as CIS, NIST, and GDPR.
  • Uses knowledge gained by and in-depth understanding of our corporate email flow to advise our threat intelligence team of potential activity and SOC/MDR of observed threats.
  • Leads cyber training programs to reduce user risk
  • All other duties as assigned.
