POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Cyber Security [Engineer] will be responsible for protecting the organization’s computer systems and networks from cyber threats. This includes monitoring, identifying, and responding to security incidents, analyzing vulnerabilities, and implementing proactive security measures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • years of experience in a cyber security role.
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption technologies.
  • Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Wireshark, Kali Linux, Metasploit, Splunk, etc.
  • Strong understanding of risk management and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
  • Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, etc.).
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience in cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and investigate potential security incidents.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into systems and software.
  • Implement, configure, and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and other security solutions.
  • Respond to security incidents and provide incident management and root cause analysis.
  • Perform risk assessments and recommend security controls to mitigate identified risks.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Stay up to date with the latest cyber security threats and trends.
  • Train staff on best security practices and conduct awareness programs.
